Etiquette: The customary code of polite behaviour in society.
Welcome to the website of the British Etiquette Revival Society.
Do you despair of the decline in the moral standards of British society? Have you had enough of ‘yob’ culture? Do you think its time to stand up and fight for a polite society? If you answer yes to all the above then you'll be interested in this site.
We seem to have lost sight of what constitutes decent behaviour, maybe the message stopped being passed from generation to generation or maybe it has just become cool and fashionable to behave badly. For whatever reason one can not help but notice the change in “acceptable” behaviour during recent times.
It is not too late for us to change either as individuals or as a society, in fact ask yourself the question “what is the alternative”?
The Society believes in the need to re-educate ourselves and more importantly our youngsters as to what behaving politely actually means. Its mission is to do this by raising the profile of these issues and making changes at a national level.
We know that achieving change will take a huge effort and that to do nothing is by far the easier option, but the question we must all ask ourselves is:
Do I care enough to do something about it? We know that we do!
This site details some of the actions, manners and behaviours that we feel are slowly disappearing from our society, please have a look through and let us have any feedback or ideas you may have in order to improve and expand it, and make sure that they are not lost forever.
If you feel as strongly about these issues as we do and would like your voice to be heard, why not apply for membership of the society
and help bring about change.
